Meaning of Water Baptism

Water baptism represents complete immersion under water, symbolizing the death of your old self and resurrection as a new creation in Christ. While not required for salvation, it is a biblical command that serves as a public declaration of faith and illustrates spiritual transformation. When you are baptized, your old sinful nature is buried with Christ, and you rise as a new creation, free from sin's power. The New Testament shows people being baptized immediately after believing, demonstrating that baptism should happen as soon as possible after accepting Christ. This act represents a covenant of complete commitment between you and God.

Out with the Old, Alive in the New

When you come to faith in Christ, you become a completely new creation - not just forgiven, but transformed from the inside out. However, old patterns and habits may still surface because your mind needs to be renewed to align with who you already are in Christ. The key is to keep the old self dead by avoiding toxic influences and not romanticizing your past. Instead, feed your mind on God's truth through His Word and starve old thought patterns. Actively put on godly characteristics like gentleness, humility, and patience when your flesh wants to react differently. You have everything you need to live this new life because Christ lives in you.

Resurrected Life Series // Raised to Life // Discussion

Before Christ, we were spiritually dead, following worldly patterns and controlled by the enemy. But God, rich in mercy, made us alive together with Christ and raised us to a new position of authority and favor. Many believers still live like prisoners even though Christ has opened the prison doors. This spiritual institutionalization happens when we forget our new position in Christ and continue thinking with our old mindset. The solution is renewing our minds through God's Word and setting our thoughts on heavenly things. The same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us today, enabling us to walk in the freedom Christ has provided.

Blessed part 7 // Discussion

In a world of constant conflict, Christians are called to be active peacemakers, not just peacekeepers. True peacemaking begins with having peace with God and allowing the peace of God to rule in our hearts. Only then can we effectively reconcile others to God and to one another.

Do you need prayer?

We are a community that prays. Prayer is not a tool we use to get what we want from God. It’s how we’re properly formed. There is time for prayer in all of our gatherings, but if you need prayer now we’re on the other end of this line to pray with you and for you.
